CARING AND EDUCATIONAL PEDAGOGY WITH PEDAGOGICAL THERAPY
DRAFT OF SPECIALIZATION
Students of the specialisation Caring and educational pedagogy with pedagogical therapy during their studies will acquire knowledge and skills to diagnose developmental and educational needs of a human being at every stage of life and methods of working with children with specific reading and writing difficulties. They will also acquire the qualifications necessary to work in the field of childcare and work with families. The study programme includes knowledge in the field of care and educational pedagogy, fundamentals of education and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities or social maladjustment and methods of working with children and youth with identified deficits in perceptual-motor functions, which cause reading, writing and learning difficulties. Students will learn and understand the dependencies and influences of the environment on those being educated, learn to shape appropriate attitudes and values of their charges, and create conditions for comprehensive development, stimulating and improving the development of psychomotor functions, compensating for deficiencies in knowledge and skills and eliminating school failures.

- methodology of care and educational work
- techniques and methods of group educational work
- methodology of work of an occupational therapist
- psychological diagnostics in care and educational work
- diagnostics in therapeutic work
- methodology of individual and group work in therapeutic studios
- interpersonal communication training
Graduates will be prepared to work in foster-care institutions, adoption centres, welfare and social care institutions, adoption and care centres, children’s homes, after-care centres, shelters for victims of family pathology and school-education centres, in schools, social care homes as educators, or counsellors. They can also work as probation officers.
