HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION

DRAFT OF SPECIALIZATION

Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the specialisation, the student will acquire knowledge in several aspects that make up one field, namely health care. The aim of the studies is to equip students with skills in the field of human rights, first and foremost the patient, the legal status of medical institutions and the functioning of institutions directly related to medicine and health.

Furthermore, the student will acquire knowledge on how to control and supervise medical units and manage the staff employed in them. In addition, the student will take classes in administration, where he/she will learn the basics of public law, economic and social policy and learn how to manage medical units and human resources.

SPECIALIZATION FOCUSES ON

Completion of the specialisation allows you to acquire knowledge and skills in:

  • the role of the health care system in contemporary society
  • IT tools used in health care
  • health promotion and how to implement it
  • organisation of work in a health care centre
  • billing documentation with various authorities, e.g. the National Health Fund
  • patient rights and procedures for working with patients

 

CAREER PROSPECTS

The graduate of this specialisation will be a highly qualified specialist with skills valued in today’s labour market. He/she will be distinguished by knowledge of the principles of organisation and management in the health care system. Graduate of Administration in Health Care will be prepared to work in positions including hygiene and epidemiology specialist, drug management inspector, billing specialist in a treatment facility, assistant in a treatment facility, patient representative.
