SOCIAL PEDAGOGY WITH ADDICTION PREVENTION

DRAFT OF SPECIALIZATION

The aim of the studies with a specialisation in social pedagogy with addiction prevention is to familiarise students with the personality and social determinants influencing the use of addictive substances and entering into behavioural addictions. Completion of the degree programme will allow students to gain up-to-date knowledge of the physiological, psychological, social and pedagogical determinants of addiction. Students in this specialisation will gain skills in diagnosing and describing the signals of emerging addiction and the psychophysical symptoms of psychoactive substance use. Issues related to addiction to the Internet, telephone, gambling and other contemporary forms of addiction are addressed during the studies. The design of the study programme, based on a practical profile, allows you to look at the issue of addiction from the perspective of a social pedagogue, social politician and a specialist in social prevention.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Graduates of this specialisation will be prepared to start working in schools, addiction prevention counselling centres, sociotherapeutic day centres. Graduates of this specialty will be equipped with knowledge, skills and competences allowing them to be involved in the work of Commune Interdisciplinary Teams, Commune Commissions for Solving Alcohol Problems. The acquired qualifications will allow them to work as street educators and specialists in developing social diagnosis. The studies in this specialisation will allow the graduates to find their place in the activities of organisations counteracting addiction problems, in addiction therapy centres, as implementers of prevention programmes in the school environment.
