BUSINESS MANAGER

The specialisation in business management prepares students to work in organisations of various sizes, both in the small and medium-sized enterprise sector and in large corporations, and to be open to running their own. Graduates of this specialisation receive a comprehensive and thorough knowledge of management and related sciences, concerning the essence, regularities, problems of functioning and development of enterprises and public institutions, as well as ways of effective and efficient problem solving. The student also acquires the knowledge necessary for effective business management, including the creation of a business plan, selection and implementation of strategies, management of individual company functions (project management, quality, marketing, finance, Human Resources, innovation and building relations with the environment), conducting analyses and building competitive advantage. The knowledge and skills acquired should shape such graduate characteristics as: entrepreneurship, influence on reality, the ability to make effective strategic decisions, making assessments and formulating opinions, the desire to succeed both personally and professionally.

The graduate acquires both business and interpersonal competences. Graduates of this specialisation will be well prepared to work as managers and practitioners of organisational management, human resource management and other departments of an organisation. With regard to the knowledge of mechanisms of human, material, financial and information resources management in various types of organisations, he/she is prepared to perform the basic functions of process (enterprise) management in organisations of economic as well as administrative nature.
